Flex Lane
FAQ

Questions, answered.

What we do, what it costs, and what happens after you sign up. If it's not here, ask us on the call.

The basics

How much does it cost?
3–6% of what you collect, set from your MC/DOT history on our first call (new to authority? we'll quote you on that call too). No flat fees, and no fee on your first 3 loads — booking, invoicing and books included.
Do you take over my authority (MC)?
No. You keep your own authority and stay in control. We simply run your back office on top of it.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. You sign a short service agreement that says what we do and what we're allowed to sign for you, and either side can end it any time in writing. Start with 3 free loads and continue only if it's working for you.
How is this different from a traditional dispatcher?
A dispatcher just books loads. We also handle your invoicing, paperwork, and bookkeeping — and because our fee is a share of what you collect, we only get paid when you do.
What if I already use a factoring company?
We work alongside your factoring company or quick-pay. We handle the invoicing and follow up with brokers until you're paid.

Getting set up

Do I sign an agreement?
Yes, a short carrier agreement after our first call. It says what we do, that the fee is 3–6% of what you collect, that you keep your own authority, and that either side can end it any time in writing. It also lets us sign rate confirmations and broker setup packets for you, nothing else.
What documents do you need?
Your company details (legal name, address, owner, EIN), W-9, MC/USDOT authority letter, a certificate of insurance, a voided check or your factoring company's notice of assignment, the signed agreement, your dispatch details (driver, equipment, lanes, home time, minimum rate), and three trade references if you have them. Have them ready for the setup call and we'll handle broker packets from there.
Do you book loads without asking me?
Only if you want us to. On the setup call you choose: approve every load yourself, or give us limits (minimum rate, lanes, home time) and we book inside them without calling. We never accept a rate below your floor without asking.
What counts as one of the 3 free loads?
One signed rate confirmation is one load, multi-stop included. If a load is cancelled before it moves, it doesn't count. The 3 free loads are for carriers new to Flex Lane, one set per MC.
What equipment do you dispatch?
Dry van, reefer, and flatbed or step deck. We don't dispatch other equipment types, such as box trucks, hotshot or cargo vans.
Can I cancel?
Any time, in writing, no notice period. Loads already booked get finished and invoiced as normal, and the fee on those is still due once the broker pays you.
I'm new to authority. Will you take me?
Yes, if your insurance is in place and your authority has no revocations. We'll tell you plainly that many brokers won't load an MC under 90 days old, so your first loads can take longer, and we quote your rate on the first call.
